6th Online Festival of Friendship at the MSU - Finals

The final stage of the 6th Online Festival of Friendship was held on 19 January in Shuvalov building of the Lomonosov MSU. Year 2016 was pronounced the Year of Russian Cinema and thus this festival was dedicated to Russian cinema. The final stage was named "Love for Сinema, Love for Russia". This annual festival was organized by the head of the MSU V.A Sadovnichiy. This year 148 students managed to get through to the finals, 49 universities from 40 different countries (40 Russian universities and 9 foreign ones) participated in this event.

Over 200 works were assessed during the selection stage.

During the final stage participants from 26 universities presented their works united by a title "Study, Dream, Create movies". Among these universities there were such famous institutions as Ferdowsi University of Mashhad (Iran), Russian language center "Russian word" (Greece) and Belarus State Medical University (Belarus).

At the beginning of the evening Aniset Gabriel Kochofa, the Ambassador of Benin, made a speech dedicated to the significance of Russian culture in the world. He underlined the importance of making the relations between Russia and Benin closer. At the end of the evening the Ambassador declaimed Pushkin's poem "Confession" to great astonishment of everybody present at this event.

Many students showed their talents. Dextor Masowe from Zambia currently studying at the Gorodovikov Kalmyk State Univeristy sang a song from Russian movie "White sun of the desert", a student from Angola performed a song from the old Russian war movie "Officers". Nigerian students who had already participated in this festival before also performed some songs and were warmly welcomed by the audience.
