Moscow University has turned 269 years

The solemn meeting dedicated to the 269-th anniversary of the founding of Moscow University was held on January 25.
After the traditional ceremony of bringing out Moscow University relics, the honoured guests congratulated MSU on its Birthday: the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Chernyshenko, the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, academician Gennady Krasnikov, the Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture Lilia Gumerova and the head of the State Duma Committee on Science and Education Sergey Kabyshev.
Astronauts from the International Space Station also congratulated MSU.
In the report of Moscow University achievements in 2023, the rector of the University, Victor Sadovnichiy said: “It is impossible to tell about everything that the university is doing now. Much has already been done, much remains to be done. The day of the foundation of Moscow State University has become All-Russian Holiday due to presidential decree. The 270-th anniversary has become an event of national importance. It would be impossible to have such development without this support. We, people of Moscow University, are ready to make our University even better and to decently celebrate this anniversary.
