New Year celebration at the IRLC
01 january 2017The Institute of Russian Language and Culture MSU celebrated the New Year on 29 December. Students organised a concert with the help of their teachers. The concert proved how talented are the people who study at our university.
Students from China, South Korea, Japan, Turkey, South Africa and from other countries sang Russian songs, danced, read Russian poems and wished each other a happy Ney Year. It was a holiday of Russian language and of international friendship.
Soon Pyo came to Moscow from South Korea. After graduating from the IRLC he plans to enter the MSU. Soon Pyo writes poems in his own language but this evening he agreed to read some of his works in Russian. The audience gave him a warm welcome and asked him to read something in Korean as well. Even though many people present at this concert didn't understand Korean, everybody listened with great attention. The poems were very beautiful.
Some of the students presented plays in Russian: short and very touching fairy tales and almost real theatrical plays. One of the groups presented a play based on N.Gogol's novel "The night before Christmas". Students acted marvelously. All the characters were amazing.
Our South African students who plan to be doctors in the future sang "Three white horses", a song from Russian New Year movie. They joyfully danced to the music and the whole audience followed them.
After the concert there was New Year contest in which students could compete for the NY presents.
The evening was colourful and very joyful! And of course we couldn't do without Ded Moroz and Snegurochka who congratulated students and gave them presents: some sweets and traditional NY tangerines.
Happy New Year, dear students, professors and IRLC staff!
