Tour of Pushkin places in the Moscow Region

 07 may 2024

On May 2, 2024, members of the Poetry Club and students of the group 105 visited Alexander Pushkin’s Museum-Reserve located in the Moscow Region.

At first, the students visited Zakharovo Estate where Alexander Pushkin had spent summer in the estate of his grandmother Maria Gannibal in childhood. Together with a guide, they went around the memorial rooms in Grandma’s house, walked around the garden, park and farm of the estate and admired wonderful views of spring nature. They discovered that Maria Gannibal had had a big impact on the upbringing of her grandson Alexander Pushkin. She had been cultivating a love for the Russian language and the Russian people’s life in him since his childhood.

Then the students went to Bolshie Vyazyomy where little Pushkin, together with his grandma, had gone to a church built by Boris Godunov. Also, there was a grave of Pushkin’s little brother Nikolai. The students looked with great pleasure at the palace of Russian statesman Golitsyn which Pushkin had visited both as a child and as an adult.

They were really interested in the events of the Patriotic War of 1812 during which Bolshie Vyazyomy had been alternatively the seat of two historical figures - Mikhail Kutuzov and Napoleon Bonaparte.
